Is my hair super yellow or just blonde?
I’m a blonde, but I dyed it brown. Then yesterday I tried to go back to blonde. WOOPS! what a mistake that was. I cant decide if my hair is yellow, or im just not used to it. HELP!
The best thing to do, is wait a few days.. So you dont completely damage your hair. Im assuming you are using a box color to go back to blonde.. Bleach should lift your hair to the right color.. If you did not use bleach.. try it in a week or two.. and then deep condition your hair.. If you did already use bleach.. you might not have left it in long enough…
Also- Some blondes are a golden blonde at first, and then it fades. Because your hair was already blonde before you went brown, it most likely will not hold the yellow. Try going to a beauty supply store and getting “shimmer lights” aka the purple shampoo. They will know what you are talking about if you ask. This removes all brass colors and tones the blonde down… Try it
Yeah, it’s probably yellow. You can try a toner (get one at a beauty supply store). My daughter just made that same mistake and she went from black, to auburn, to orange, to bright orange, to strawberry blond, to some kind of strange yellow color. She finally went and got some extensions! Anyway, the salon told her she could try a toner, but that she may not get the results she wants. Toners are supposed to tone down the “brassiness.” Just be careful and don’t put too many lighteners on it, or your hair will be like straw…like my daughter’s hair is. You may just have to wait till it grows out and start cutting it. Or just go back to a dark color.
