the other day I fell down the basemant stairs and cut my arm and then a showed it to my mom and she said to clean it with peroxide and I did then the next day it turmed a sickly green. What is wrong with my scab on my arm?
I realize the question may be moot at this point, but from a chemist's perspective, what you said makes sense chemically. Hydrogen peroxide is a very strong oxidizing agent. Your red blood cells contain hemoglobin, an iron containing compound. Iron turns greenish black when it is oxidized (in its +2 oxidation state), hence the green color of the scab.
Dear hannahbonanan45, Usually when we see green it's a sign of infection. It is a good idea to see a doctor and have it cleaned out and bandaged. He may give you some thing for the infection if it is bad enough. Sue...good luck
show your mom again she can take you to the county nurse youre probably going toneed tetanus shots and you need to do it quickly
