What are the god(s) and values of your religion?

ok so I have a theory that all religions are different interpretations of the same divine word. I have found some evidence but I want more so I can write a paper or a book on it. So either answer here or funmail me all about your religion: values, gods, and stuff like that.

Answer #1

None. c:

Answer #2

You should read up on the Baha’i faith. It claims spiritual brotherhood for all mankind and that different religious leaders throughout history (Abraham, Moses, Zarathustra, Buddah, Jesus, Muhammad etc.) were all messengers from the same God each presenting revelations appropriate for that time and culture. I don’t have a religion. If you use the looser term worldview than I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in any literal god(s) and see religion as ways of dealing with mankind’s wants, needs, and fears.

Answer #3

Um, GOD :) The one and only :) I’m Christian.

Answer #4

That sounds like a universalist theory. I have studied most of the world religions in my quest for my spiritual growth and personally I have found that none offer what Christ offered. There are some basic elements that are part of the foundation of the spiritual teachings of the major religions such as; Humility, carma, and forgiveness. At their base all of the major religions have good spiritual teachings beneficial to mankind, however, because of the very nature of humans, are not usually followed in the manner they were originally taught, and are often times used as a means of control.

The different faiths also do alot of good, such as feeding, clothing and providing shelter and medical support for the needy. Too often faiths like Christianity are critisized when in reality they are leading the charge in providing for those less fortunate around the world. To me any violent act performed by one human against another in the name of their faith, is not a product of the faith, but the product of the human blaming their actions on the faith. They are reading their book wrong period.
i have found everything I want in my God in a book called "The Shack". It is christian non-fiction. I believe the God of Christianity is the only God who can only act out of love in his relationship with his creation, because he also has a loving relationship built into his own character and nature often called the trinity. Without that concept of God as a relational being, this monotheistic God would need to create an object to love, thus love would be "otherness", and "seperate from" his character and nature. A God of this kind could just as easlily "uncreate" love, or the object of his love, which could have unimaginable consequences. You could say that proof of God is that we still exist, for God and the spiritual principles thereof have intervened in the anhilation of our species time and time again. This comment will get a rise out of people because it is the bastardization of said principals that have caused most of the wars on this planet.
Christianity is simple: God creates man and gives man choice of relationship, man chooses knowledge. God creates a means for man to reconcile through Christ. Jesus is the ultimate act of love.
Answer #5

There are many different Buddhas in my religion. “My religion is simple. My religion is kindness.” - Quote from the Dalai Lama ^-^

Answer #6

People can plainly see the absurdity of every religion except their own.

Answer #7

I know but can you tell me more like about the eight fold path and stuff, I learned a little about Buddhism but want to know more

Answer #8

It is true that we tend to view our own beliefs with lesser scrutiny, nothing against other religions, I just identify more with mine. I still find value in a great many spiritual principles, however, I have found the teachings and meaning of Christ to offer more. That is my personal opinion. :)

Answer #9

Also, because of the God of the trinity having a relationship of love built into his very character and nature, it is unnecessary for us to reciprocate in order for God to feel love. God is love. He is full unto himself. In a state of perpetual bliss, and he created humans to share in that. Fortunately he also gave us the power of choice, and being the model for healthy boundaries that he is, he does not intervene unless ask - exceot for Jesus. Jesus is Gods way of jumping into the middle of our mess, and give us a doorway. Jesus is the radio we can use to get in touch with the mother ship, lol. He is also how the mothership comunicates with us through his word and deed.

Could not agree with you more.:)

Answer #13

Ugh I hate how close minded this statement is, I don’t want to be rude, it’s just my opinion

Answer #14

I am a christian Theist, and a response to your statement above…Sometimes its good to be close minded, like when you close in on the truth.

Answer #15

I believe Christianity is true, but what if there are more truths that are just presented in a different way? Then you are closing out possibilities and knowledge

Answer #16

More truths? Are you giving me the old ‘different perception of reality’? For to be a christian you have to adhere to the teachings of jesus and this was one of them…”Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Two opposite forces can’t be in the one reality.

Answer #17

Close minded?? either u believe that Jesus is your savior or not. U say ur christian so u must no that he is the only way to God. U cannot believe in God and worship another god. U would definatly be going against all his teachings. 10 commandments. The number 1 commandment is U shall have no other gods before me.Deuteornomy 17:2-5 “If there is found among you, within any of your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, a man or woman who does what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, in transgressing his covenant, and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden, and it is told you and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true and certain that such an abomination has been done in Israel, then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you shall stone that man or woman to death with stones.

Answer #18

I am not saying I worship other gods, but I still believe other religions are correct and just different interpretations of a holy words so I see god as part of a trinity and that all paths may lead to salvation if right action is taken

Answer #19

They may have correct morals. Like being kind and lovin everyone. So wat ur saying is u dont beileve that Jesus is your one and only way to God and heaven and salvation?

Answer #20

Jesus is my path but other paths are correct too

Answer #21

k i can see that.

Answer #22

But i still think there is only one correct way to aternal life in the perfect world and thats Jesus. False teachings have been written all through out the bible. it says any religion that teaches that u can get to heaven without Jesus as ur savior is wrong. (from a christian point of view) i understand people have found peace with their religions and thats good. But if ur christian then there is only one way.

Answer #23

Yeah I see Jesus as my way but other ways leading to heaven too

Answer #24

I’m not religious, but I am a believer! I choose to only believe in and follow the Creator of the universe YHWH, the God of Abraham. I believe and accept the covenant of His Son Yehshua. I do believe Him because I know Him, feel Him and trust only in Him.

Answer #25

The God of my religion is Allah, or whatever you would like to call him. There’s only of him anyway.

The values of my religion are humanity and honesty.

So if you are an honest human who worships one God, you are a Muslim.
