Webcam Won't Install?

The other day I bought the Gigaware Webcam w/ Mic (model 25-157) from RadioShack. I put in the driver CD to see if it would load, and followed the instructions for Windows Vista. I couldn’t get anything started, but then I could get the installation screen up. It keeps saying that it installed, but right after it says that it failed. It tried to get me to save it in a different location, plug in the mic, etc, etc, but it still wouldn’t work. I went to Radioshack, I got it exchanged, I’ve talked to tech support from the store and corporate but no one can help me. I have all the equipment that I need, I just can’t get my computer to read the webcam on Skype.

Does anyone else know how to fix this? Maybe someone who has had problems with installing a webcam before?

IAre you saying that you can’t get your computer to recognize your webcam or just Skype? If you are not getting Skype to recognize your webcam, make sure you have te latest version of DirectX, you need 9.0 or higher. Skype don’t regonize all brands of webcams either. If your computer is not recognizing the webcam and its not the webcam or the installation CD, check in the device manager and see if the webcam is listed, click properties on it, and update the driver and see if that works.
