Getting Shocked By My Car...!!

I always get shocked by my car. I just about had it. Everytime I close or open the door I ALWAYS get shocked…why? & is there a way that I can stop it? Please help…it hurts like a bih…lol.

Cars build up a lot of static electricity. There is a “static strap” that you can buy that attaches to the bumper or some other metal part of the car. It drags on the ground and bleeds off the static charge. You can find them at parts stores like Canadian Tire or Walmart.

That always happens to me! I think its just what you tough before touching the handle. Try not to touch the seats, your hair,m or anything that can cause static!

You are getting popped by static electricity. About the only thing you can do is as you open your car door, before stepping out, grab onto a metal part of the door. If you do that, the charge will just travel right into the ground. It’s caused by low humidity and a static electrical charge created by your clothing and the seat material as you move to get out. You can dampen your hands and see if that works. It’s a pain in the butt down here, too. ;>)
