What type of car should I get if I am a new driver?

My grandfather owns his own car dealership company and he has offered to give me a car, since I have just gotten my permitt. What type of car would be best suited for a new driver?I would like something sporty or type girly, yet I would like my car to be safe. Does anyone know which car kind of or fits that description?

Personally I would go for something a little older, maybe like a early 90’s or even into the 80’s. I know they might now be quite the look your are going for or fuel economy, but I feel the older cars a much better built. My first car was an 83 Caprice Classic. It was a tank. I got in several wrecks due to my inexperience, and it kept to ticking, but most importantly I was never injured.

Anything newer (like 95ish on) is made to crumple and absorb the impact. Car is totaled then, and I personally feel safer with something around me that is design to shrug off the impact and keep going. If you can find a early 90’s old police car you would be set. First off they are reinforced to absorb impact, and since they were a gov’t vehicle they brought in on every scheduled maintenance, so they are usually well cared for.

But of course most importantly buy a Chevy :D

Whatever car you get make sure you save up some money and buy a junkey car. I no it sounds dumb but you are bound to crash your car as a new driver, save the nice car till you get older…it willl last a lot longer.
