What do you think about in-game ads, are they effective?

A study looked at in-game Gatorade ads in six EA Sports titles, including the last two installments of the company’s “NHL” franchise and the 2007, 2008 and 2009 versions of “NBA Live”. People who played those games increased their household dollars spent on the sports drink by 24 percent.

Answer #1

I think they are extremely effective. For one the number of people who watch sports is outstanding and so its a huge audience they are targeting. Secondly, when people are drinking and drunk, everything looks good! Your more likely to try something you saw in an ad while you were drunk because they ad said it was amazing or because you remember how funny it was.

Answer #2

EA added in game ads to battlefield 2142 and you know what i cant remember 1 because who really plays a game online and stops to read them. waste of time for games like that but would prob work with single player games

Answer #3

Yeah thats true about the drunk thing. The only reason I have mayo and lettuce in my chiken burger is because they looked so good because I was drunk and now I just eat them like that when Im sober. Not the same but yeah! lol

Answer #4

i think most people find it more funny when they care to notice, that another game would be advertised in the game they are currently playing, but most people just keep playing like it’s not even there
