Gaiters or Chaps?

I ride quite a lot now and I wear chaps. But I was thinking about getting some gaiters. But I’m not sure wether I should or shouldn’t because I only have lessons and dont do any show etc. So would it be worth it to get some gaiters? or should I just get some long boots??

By the way I am from england so I dont mean gaiters that horses wear. :)

Gaiters are hand in the woods, that’s a fact. If you’re only riding in a ring, they’d be a waste of money. Who’s to say you won’t do some showing after your lessons, you DO need chaps to compete in Western Pleasure, so you’ve got one of the bigger investments in showing already paid for…
