Is it OK to have unprotected sex and use the morning after pill?

Hey everyone, My bestfriend, same age as me, asked a question the other day, she was seekin sum advice but I couldn’t help her because I myself was relatively blank and I don’t want to mess with her head. Anyway she asked, if it was safe to have unprotected sex and then take the morning after pill because she and her boyfriend want to experience so much what it wud be like if he ejaculated in her. So now I’m asking you guys, because I can’t answer. Is it safe to do this; have unprotected sex and then take the morning after pill and how effective is the morning after pill. Help a sista out, I don’t want her to do anything stupid and believe me I’ve tried talkin 2 her. But she’s got her mind made up

Answer #1

That’s a moral question - one would have to examine their own soul and determine, right or wrong.

Answer #2

Its never a good idea to have unprotected sex. and for the morning after pill, I have known so many girls that have had to take it and it made them sick as a dog. Its def finitely not worth it, tell her to get on birth control and than start thinking about unprotected sex.

Answer #3

It’s not the best idea. Even if you use the morning after pill, you can get pregnant. Not only that, but no pill protects against STDs, so I’d just deal with not having unprotected sex.

Answer #4

Regular b.c. pills are 99.9% effective if used correctly, EC pills are only 75-85% effective. Regular b.c. pills don’t usually cause many side effects, and if they do you can switch to a brand that your body can better handle; EC pills can cause nausea (23%) and vomiting (6%). Neither regular b.c. pills nor EC pills cause abortions. If you are already pregnant they will NOT cause an abortion, and they will NOT harm the fetus.

I hope this helps, Good Luck !!

why doesn’t she just go on the pill instead ? Isn’t it better to be totally protected from falling pregnant rather than risk it just to see what it feels like and then maybe end up having to face being pregnant? If she’s old enough to be having sex she should also be mature enough to be safe about it. :)

It is ok to have sex unprotected and use the morning after pill if she doesnt want to get pregnant but she still could get std’s like HIV and AIDS ive just been for a check and i have only hade sex once and used a condom and ive got to wait to weeks and im going out of my mind with worry so sit down with her and just explain its ok to have unprotected sex and use the morning after pill and have HIV which cannot be cured or to be sfe and use a condom. i know people dont always listen so go on the internet and get picture and more info. ok GOOK LUCK XX Tezza

Answer #7

the morning after pill like has already been said is not a contraceptive its an abortion. I dont personally have a problem with abortion but your friend might. If she wants to experience her boyfriend cumming in her then she should go on the pill or injection, that is if she trusts her boyfriend not to have any STDs. It is technically “safe” to take the morning after pill but she has to make that desicion herself.

Answer #8

You can’t use the morning after pill as a form of contraception, its to be used in emergencies when there has been unprotected sex, or a burst condom. Unprotected sex as in they didn’t use protection in the heat of the moment, not planned unprotected sex. If they won’t use birth control on a regular basis then they shouldn’t be having sex. They need to be responsible for their actions. There is the birth control pill if they don’t want to use condoms. If they want to be adult about all of this then they need to act like adults.

I think the best advice is to not have sex because its too risky and she needs to know what she is getting herself into and the consequences it has after… and no the morning after pill doesnt make you sick like a dog… it al depends on the person , some people dont experience much side effects but once the morning after pill is taken preferrably 24hours after having unprotected sex, it is 95% effective..it should be taken asap!! and make sure it taken as directed!!! that very important, else it wont work! but the best thing is to ABSTAIN!!! all the best..
