Should I stay in college away from my man or transfer?

I am going to college away from home. I have always been told by all of my teachers and mentors to never base my life on a man… That is plausible advice but since I transferred to a school that is thousands of miles away from my loving boyfriend I found my grades slipping and I am now taking anti-depressants to stay on track. I miss him more than anything so now I am contemplating whether or not to transfer home to be with him. I would still be going to school but I know that this could be a mistake since after all… he is just a “man”… What should I do? Should I stick it out in a place that I don’t enjoy or should I go home and be with all of my friends and continue learning in a more friendly, familiar environment?

Dear taralynwalker, Sounds like you are very unhappy where you are and very lonely. Perhaps you should consider enrolling in a college closer to home. the key is that you make sure you continue your studies if you return home. You must not give up bettering you education. We don’t know what the future holds but you need to keep your options open so by getting a good education you’ll be ready for any changes you may come encounter in the future. Sue…good luck
