Should I have a 'front for my skateboard?

Or does having a front and back wear it out in certain areas thus wearing the board faster?

Answer #1

Most boards have a differentiation between tail and nose. Street (popsicle stick) boards have the tail smaller than the nose, while pool boards the tail is almost always bigger than the nose. There are some boards that are the same on the nose and tail. They are sometimes called twin tip, symmetrical or Siamese. If you can skate the board better with the nose as the tail, then do it. It doesn’t matter, whatever works best for you is best to go with. But wearing on the board is inevitable, there only meant to last for so long, which is why some brands are better than others. Wearing is partly good though because with time you and the board will adjust to each other, making it easier for you to skate.
