Friends with someone that hurt you?
Would you like to be friends with someone that hurt you? I was dating this guy for 2months and it was a complicated relationship. I tried dumping him 3 times but he always pursue me or talk me out of it. Until this weekend, when we were planning to go camping. He never answered my calls on friday, and called late in the afternoon to cancel on the plan and dumped me. I agree with him about not being together anymore(it wasn’t going nowhere) but I think it was insensitive of him to dump me over the phone and not even saying sorry that he cancelled last minute. Would you guys just let it go and forgive and forget? try and be friends with them later on? Because that’s what I feel, I am hurt but over it. My friends told me, they would be really mad and would not want to be friends with someone like that.
Well I’d only be friends with someone if our friendship actualy meant something to them. What I mean to say is, is this guy a good friend in any way? If he just dumps you at will and doesn’t ever say sorry then he isn’t much of a friend. But then if he goes out of his way to be there for you or help you then this would be a nice friend to have. I had a friend who was NEVER punctual and that I knew I couldn’t count on keeping plans so I just avoided making punctual plans with them…if they showed great but if not I’d already made back plans (ex.: going out with other people, not just him). It made our relationship work because I didn’t expect somethign from him that he couldn’t give YET I never would have done this if he hadn’t been a great friend in other ways (ex.: calling me all the time, being there for me when I was down, coming over to my house for visits).
You can’t change some people. I would just forget about it and move on.
