Why do people act emo?

Why do people act emo?

Answer #1

I’m emo and I don’t act any way at all. I didn’t become emo because I needed attention or anything, it’s just I felt that this lifestyle understood my veiw of life. I constantly wrote poetry since 3rd grade, some kids dont call themselves emo until they’re old enough to get highlights or some stupid shit like that

Answer #2

emo people just want to stand out now theres too many of them so help us god haha jk

Answer #3

because unfortuanlty majority of the people who talk about emo and majority of the kids who call themselves emo still have no idea what the word actually means Emo is nothing more than a style of dress and a genre of music it has NOTHING to do with cutting (self harm) depression (a mental disorder) suicide, eating disorders, ect because feelings and emotions play NO part in any label or stereotype which is what majority of the kids who talk about emo and majority of the kids who call themselves emo still don’t understand

Answer #4

Emo is a way of life. you can not become emo because it is just your personality. The way they dress and the music they listen to just goes along with their PERSONALITY, what they like!

Answer #5

Because they probally hate the world and keep asking the question “ What does it mean?”

Answer #6

You don’t “act” emo. Emo is a style and type of music. If someone is just “acting” emo then they’re probably a poser. Same thing goes for people who ask stuff like “how do I become emo” or something. Seriously, if you have to ASK for to be/dress/do make up/have your hair in order to match a certain stereotype/label, then your a poser for sure.

Answer #7

well if you really read the question, she asked why they “act” that way. yes some people actually are, but those who “act” emo just crave attention

Answer #8

They aren’t freaks, excuse me,some of my friends happen to be emo. That’s how they want to live their life,if you can’t deal with them, don’t bother asking because you could offend some of them. If it’s not you, don’t worry about it.

Answer #9

stop being so stereotypical.
