What formula do you use to calculate the calories of a peanut?

Values I have are: Mass of peanut- .34g Mass of remaining material after burning- .14g Mass of peanut that burned- .20g Volume of liquid water- 9mL Mass of liquid water- 9g

Answer #1

You would have to use a crucible to burn the nut and measure how much heat is transferred, from there you take the heat change and multiply it by 4.02, or how many joules equals a calorie. Then you will get your answer.
