First horse I ever rode just died

The first horse that I ever rode just died. She coliced and was in so much pain that they had to put her down. She was like 35ish so I mean she was old and have a very good life but I am so upset. I’m afraid that I’m going to start crying in school tomorrow. Any advice on how to make this eaiser?

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends, so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

This is a lovely poem called Rainbow Bridge, where pet owners are said to be reunited with their animal friends in the next life. I hope this helps you release your feelings. Don’t be ashamed to cry and don’t try to bottle it all up, otherwise it will be more painful. You’ve lost a very good friend, so you’re allowed to grieve for her. I hope this message gives you some comfort. God bless. <3

I am sorry to hear about this, there is a lot of feelings. Only Time is the Healer. Emotions are good and don’t be afraid to feel them. I feel like crying just thinking back to my first horse and when he died.

Sorry, about your loss. No good advice here, but to just let it out, it is ok to cry like Phrannie said this IS a big deal to any animal lover.

Hey…it’s ok to cry over a big loss…losing your horse, is no small matter…

You don’t have to apolgize for having a big heart…or feeling sad…it’s human.

I know how you feel, but sooner or later you have to go to school. when your at school try not to think about it so much, maybe talk to someone about it, and remember she is in a better place now horsie heaven ^^

I feel so sorry for you! :{ Have a cry on my dog, he always makes me feel better. but you’ll have to move on I’m afraid. And do not be afraid to cry, even at school, and if you do start to get upset, try and occupy yourself with something else until you can get a moment alone or with a very good friend who understands how you feel, then just let it all out.

Anything I can do, I could write a very nice short novel about your horsey heroe maybe? Just fun mail me if you would like me to write something special along with his characteristics and such.

once again, I am so sorry, and I know how you feel because I have suffered a loss recently. Hope I’ve been of some help, Nick
