My husband recently lost his sight as a result of a stroke. I am waiting for social security disability. we have applied for everything and I fear the only option is begging to survive in the months it will take before receiving any benefits. we have no assets, no income and no potential for income. any advice?

I would speak with ministers in your area, explain your situation, take documentation, and see if they can help or recommend - sorry about your current situation, this too will pass - you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

Check with local food distribution sources, food banks, soup kitchens, etc.

You can also check with your state’s local welfare or social services office to see if they can supply help until his disability checks start coming. Also check out the Salvation Army, Catholic Social Services and Lutheran Social Services.
