Fights the leash

Whenever I try to take my female pitbull for a walk she fights to go outside and once she’s outside she fights to go back in the house what do I do?

Treats are a life saver!

How about this…take some soyabean nutris and boil them in water. When it is time to take your dog out for a walk, keep some of these nutris in your pocket. Take one in your free hand and make the dog smell it. The dog would like to eat this but do not give it imedaitely. Make the dog walk some distance and then give it. Also keep praising the dog once she obeys your command. Keep repeating this after few steps and the dog will happily follow you to heaven and hell…Go ahead and enjoy DOG WALKING…Vishu101

I thought the same thing…use small treats as a bribe and a reward…make the leash walks too fun to resist…

I started thinking when I took my dog out this morning, so came back to edit…

When you go out the door with your dog…stand tall, shoulders square…basically showing her there is nothing to fear “out there”…Using a treat as a bribe…and lots of praise when she moves forward is GOOD…However, DO NOT offer ANY symapthy…don’t do “it’s ok, sweetie, nothing will hurt you”, stuff…that fosters exactly what you’re trying to get over…her fear…(I know it’s hard not to sympathize, it’s human nature to do so…but it’ backfires).

I reccommend you watch the dog whisperer on sky 3 at 6.00pm. t sounds like she needs to surrender to the leash, once she has done that, you need to not give into her, stay calm and asssertive and keep moving forward.

Do not go… “come on.. you’re such a good girl… follow me…” to her, that is a sign of weakness so she will not follow you, or do what you want her to do because she won;t take you seriously. The best thing is to stay silent.

Seriously, I really reccommend you watch the dog whisperer… his technique works with every single dog problem you can think of…

Lots of luck
