Do you think a half dollar coin could be worth anything?

I have a 50 cent coin I don’t see many coins like this I only see quarters,pennies,dimes, 5 cents coin and dollar,but rarely find a half dollar coin. do you think this half dollar coin would worth or not like a collector item or not. Tell me please thank you.

Half dollar coins while they have been discontinued aren’t really collectors items so I’m afraid that your coin is simply worth 50 cents

It depends on the coin. Silver has gone up so much that if you have a 1964 or earlier silver Kennedy half dollar the silver alone would be worth about $10 today. In 1965 the coin changed form 90% silver to 40% and the value of the metal alone would be about $4. In 1971 and later there is no silver in half dollars so they may be worth no more than face value. Half dollars before 1971 sell for at least the value of their silver and possibly more if they are in any way rare or collectable. Certain half dollars after 1971 are valuable; especially misstruck coins. I’d look at the coin and look up its value before trading it for 2 quarters.
