Female bettas

I got two female bettas because I was told you can put them together. well they pecked at each other for a few min then left each other alone. two days later I go to work get home and one of them is torn up. her fins are all ripped apart. I seperated them and am going to get a second tank for the other, but what can I do to help the injured one heal?

Answer #1

You cannot keep female betta together! Only if they have been raised as babys will they do alright, they will also be okay with other smaller fish that dont have big fins and lack a lot of bright color. They sell fin protector and grower at local aquarium shops. You just add it to the water, that would help her fins grow back quicker. If you don’t want to get the medicine her fins will grow back on their own within a few weeks.
