  Depends on the religious interpretation of fasting. I know in my religion, fasting is skipping at least two meals and not eating or drinking for at least the 24 hours. If you want more information go here to lds.org. Or, click on the URl link in my profile.

  As above it means to go without food , this is why our first meal of the day is called break-fast because we break the fasting we did while we were asleep .
