can you explain some parts of evolution for me?

Answer #1

The world magically appeared out of nowhere and apparently we evolved from wild monkeys and fish

Answer #2

and single celled organisms haha

Answer #3

…..

Answer #4

evolution is adaptation that a species develops over a long period of time like 100 of thousands of years/millions of years to develop something that is an advantage of something. but evolution put in simplest terms is survival of the fittest

Answer #5

…… :)….. :D….. ∆….∆

Answer #6

sorry, i messed up posting that. and i kind of did again, my full question is now entitles “hi there” lol

Answer #7

It didnt magically appear, but “God” did not magically appear and create it either. -.-

Answer #8

Um thanks for that

Answer #9

well everything started after the big bang. only 1 “person” knows what really happened. that is god

Answer #10

Evolution is a process of many many years. From what I know every organism descended from bacteria or some small organism alike them. This organism was most likely an asexual organism that produced more organisms alike. Years later they developed fins and gills. It is some process like trial-and-error, where you fail until you get it right. Later it forms more and more and tries to reach land and the organisms that reproduced from that bacteria-like organism disperse over many regions. Thousands of years later you have a plethora of different species.

Answer #11

Thanks :)

Answer #12

Sorry. I do not have enough faith to believe in evolution.

Answer #13

your welcome :D 

Answer #14

We never descended from monkeys, chimps or other alike organisms. I don’t know where you get this information, but we did share a common ancestor. We are 99.9% alike from chimps but we did not evolve from monkeys.

Answer #15

Evolutions has been proved, no one can contradict it, but people may not believe in it. THat doesn’t mean evolution is not true. As for myself, I believe in evolutions and still have faith in my religion. I don’t really think of the bible holding events that happened in life, I just look at the events listed in the bible as lessons we need to learn in order to have a true understanding in life and what our purpose is in life.

Answer #16

I hate answers like this. Why post if you have nothing useful to say? And why would someone even “like” this response? It did nothing for the person asking the question.

Answer #17

There is so much to evolution, it would be impossible to sum it up here with little space and little time. Evolution has to do with genes, natural selection, and a living things ability to adapt to its surroundings (the strongest survive is not true. the species that can adapt to change in it’s environment survive, is true). An easy way to describe natural selection is by explaining artificial selection. A good example, humans use artificial selection in dog breeding. If the breeder wants a dog that has bigger ears, the breeder will take two dogs of the same breed that have longer ears and have them make babies.. They keep doing this with separate litters (taking the dogs with the longest ears each time), over and over again. Until, generations later, they are producing litters of puppies with longer ears than the originals. Natural selection works the same way, except it’s nature that is selecting, not humans. The peppered moth is a great example. When the Industrial Revolution hit, the moths who were mainly light colored starting dying off. Why? Because birds could see them easily and ate them. The moths who had darker coloring survived to pass on their genes, therefore producing more darker moths. Lighter ones are starting to appear more often again now that they are trying to improve the harm done to the environment, dark ones are dying off because they are easily seen by predators. Another good example of evolution; the flu virus… Why do you think they need to make a new vaccine every year? Because the flu bacteria evolve to resist the old vaccine. There are many books dedicated to evolution which explain it way better than my rushed, summed up version.

Answer #18

Guess you have no sense of humor, hmmm?

Answer #19

you know, here’s the thing, if you’re going to ridicule a scientific theory with a ton of evidence, go for it. I dont believe in blind faith (although I doubt the same is true of you). But I suggest you at least know what your talking about or end up looking foolish… The big bang theory and evolution are two separate theories. Evolution on a small scale is something we’ve witnessed while the big bang is a little harder to prove. And only you and the other ignoramus out there believe we evolved from monkeys (i find it interesting you needed to add the word wild there, after all we domesticated animals, thus all monkeys were wild at the beginning, whatever beginning you choose to believe in…)

Answer #20

I don’t believe we evolved from monkeys, I was mocking the evolution theory as I am a Christian. And some forms of evolution do say we evolved from monkeys you can’t just go on one theory when making a decision

Answer #21

Sorry, but NO scientific theory of evolution says that we evolved from monkeys. Repeat … NONE. It is only creationists using disinformation that claim that evolution says humans descended from apes / monkeys. They are trying to misrepresent evolution in order to influence those who are not willing to check out the truth.

Answer #22

How was that even funny?

Answer #23

There are no real “forms” of evolution that say we came from monkeys, unless you mean the “forms” that the religious and uneducated spread around. We share a common ancestor with monkeys, that’s it…There is only one theory of evolution, not multiple, and any scientist or biologist who is worth his/her degree know that evolution is true. Notice that I don’t say “believe in evolution”, that is because you either know evolution is true or you blatantly ignore evidence.

Answer #24

Sure, whatever you say.

Answer #25

This answer had nothing remotely funny about it. My sense of humor is as intact as ever.

Answer #26

Nikki, try to be more educated on something before you argue against it…

Answer #27

I wasn’t arguing, I was stating something I believe. I’ve been taught this in every school I go to, public and private. And I’m not saying that what they’re saying is false either, I am stating was i told and my opinion on the matter. Thank you very much

Answer #28

You were stating something you believed, yes. But you’re not representing the opposing argument correctly. The only people who claim that we evolved from monkeys are uneducated on the matter, and you’re quoting that yourself. Just because you’re a Christian, doesn’t mean you have to mock evolution. I’m sure you don’t like it when people mock your beliefs, you’re doing no good by doing it back. Every argument you make with people on here is the same, you don’t take anything anyone says into consideration.

Answer #29

What? First of all, I can mock whatever I want to mock. And its been a long time since web argued Cassie and not every arguement i have is the same if ur paying attention which I doubt. And i don’t care when people do mock me, they can say what they want. Ur second sentence doesn’t make sense

Answer #30

we’v

Answer #31

It’s not arguments with me I’m specifically referring to. I can read things without commenting on them, maybe I’ve read more than you perceive. Most people don’t share your views and would rather not have their belief system mocked with ignorance. “But you’re not representing the opposing argument correctly.” Is that the sentence that didn’t make sense? I’m saying you’re not representing evolution correctly in your argument. Saying that we evolved from monkeys is wrong, that’s not the theory so get that out of your head.

Answer #32

Actually a lot of people share my views, and a lot of people share yours too but does that mean that everyone is going to agree with what we say? Thanks for clarifying that I didn’t quite understand it, and I’ll get it out of my head when I want to thank u. Im done with this, I’m tired of you always picking on me it’s really annoying so please stop

Answer #33

Cassie isn’t picking on you…she is stating what she thinks of this argument, which is perfectly fine.

Answer #34

Alrighty then, but when you post things like you’re posting, people are going to point out your flaws. One of the fun parts to being outspoken.

Answer #35

Yah you’d think I would get used to it by now ESP since it’s always just me for whatever weird reason. I would appreciate it if she stopped, im not even joking here

Answer #36

You think you’re so special that you’re the only person who I question? Think again, maybe you’re the only one who gets this offended.

Answer #37

I understand that cassie, maybe its bcuz it’s different where I am but you say to me is highly rude sometimes ESP since I never point out your flaws in arguements I mind my own business

Answer #38

Hey it’s just what I’ve noticed in certain questions, not all, but some I’m the only one that you argue with. Have a nice day

Answer #39

Well, not to be rude…or snobby, but she doesn’t exactly have to stop, because she isn’t doing anything wrong. She is allowed to post what she thinks about something, or what you say…and so is everyone else.

Answer #40
  1. Feel free to point out my flaws. Go on, I encourage it. It’s one of the reasons I like debating with people. It’s not an argument or debate if you aren’t trying to prove me wrong.

  2. You’re not the only one, I feel like this is just the card you pull out whenever you can’t argue back and feel like you’ve won. You make a post, you get responses, you deal with the consequences.

Also, calling me rude seems a tad hypocritical.

Answer #41

I know that, I would just like it if she didn’t say things like i notice how of people don’t agree with u and then demanding I get an idea out of my head. Is it too much to ask that she not be rude when giving her opinion?

Answer #42

Since when I have been rude to you? I love your advice and always try to take it and I never try to be rude, and it’s a card I pull out with only you you wanna why cuz its true. I don’t use that one with anyone else feel free to quote me

Answer #43

I don’t think people should be rude when answering, and I don’t think it’s wrong to ask someone not to be rude…however, to be honest…I don’t see anything that Cassie said here as rude.

Answer #44

Like i said before she’s done this before on certain questions all I am asking is that it would stop I do not appreciate is I always try to respect her and her opinions now can this end please

Answer #45

I wasn’t being rude when I answered… If I was going to be rude I would have probably been swearing and calling you retarded or something… I don’t usually do that. Usually. I didn’t say you were being overly rude to me, but you are sometimes. The word rude is starting to sound and look funny to me…

Answer #46

You were kind of being a bit rude to her…or snobby, (not sure what to call it)…but it wasn’t exactly respectful in my opinion.

Answer #47

Well your version of respectful is different from mine, and Cassie is right rude is starting to sound weird so we can we all just move on as I’m sure we all have better things to do?

Answer #48

I don’t see how disrespectful can have different versions, disrespect is disrespect. But yes, we can move on….

Answer #49

Not in particular to be honest. I’m just chilling and playing video games while occasionally answering questions and posting on here. If you’d rather move on from this, by all means, go ahead.

Answer #50

Not in particular to be honest. I’m just chilling and playing video games while occasionally answering questions and posting on here. If you’d rather move on from this, by all means, go ahead.

Answer #51

Thank you.

Answer #52

Sorry to uh…yeah… but Nikki? “Since when have I been rude to you?” Your very first comment in itself was rude. The only reason any of this argument started was because of it. <_<

Answer #53

Uhm I wasn’t even talking to you no one was you just came randomly and then we didn’t hear from you since

Answer #54

Hi people :) If you want to continue discussing evolution go for it, otherwise personal issues with each other off the board…

Answer #55

In his defense, if that was stated in an ironic way it was kinda funny.

Answer #56

yes the answer is in the word 1 Timothy 6:20 , and Genesis 1:26,27 ;)
