Can someone please explain to me about gauges and piercings? Well, how does it all work? Thanx if you can help X)

For peircings, some Body Pierciers use a gun, like the ones used for getting ears peircied. As for Gauges, To start off , you would us a very small plug about a 20 or a 18. As the size gets bigger the number gets smaller. I would search up a chart of gauge Sizes. Get your Gauges and changing then is a long possess. The process of gauging your ear piercing is slow and gradual, but that beats going about with your ears heavily bandaged. What you should do is select a gauge size that is next in size to your current one and buy metal earrings or insertion tapers in that next gauge size. Metal ones are a better idea than ones made of metal or other materials as the chances of infection are considerably reduced.

Hope this Helps :)

First of all… thanx for trying to answer my confusing question! -ok, so wait, i thought professional piercers would WAY rather use a needle -for the gauges thing, i dont mean as in gauging your ears, i mean piercings like belly button or snakebites -whats a gauge exactly, the size of: -the plug is the thing for your ears to stretch…right? -what are insertion tapers haha, ya i know nothing about this… sorry

Yes Gauge are the things that stretch your ear lobes. Theres other names are Tunnels and Plugs. A Taper is use used to stretch the piercing. Pushing the taper through the piercing gradually will increase the size of the opening. It is recommended to stretch one size …
