What should I expect with surface hip piercings?

i am thinking of getting them?

Answer #1

Surface piercings are very sensitive, the healing process can take close a year to heal, but be careful cause your body can still reject it. Surface piercings aren’t permanent, so you may wanna keep that in mind. A surface piercing is one of the hardest of piercings to heal as it is a more complicated piercing. It takes up more skin than other piercings, causing more trauma to the tissue. To heal a surface piercing properly you need to make sure that you watch any friction on the piercing. Place a surface piercing in a low key area, so you aren’t bumping it often. You should clean the piercing with a saline solution, or a mild sea salt mix. You have to make sure you are fully cleaning the area.Watch for any build up of skin, blood etc. If there is any pus or excessive blood you could have an infection. When you have a buildup of whatever push it away with a wet Q-tip not your hands. Your piercer should also answer any other of your questions…..Hope I Helped and Good Luck!
