What are two important events in The House on Mango Street and WHY? I think some are when Tito and his friends ask Sally to kiss them, when Esperanza talks to Elenita, when Esperanza discusses her name’s meaning, but I’m not sure. Is this correct? When Esperanza discusses her name’s meaning, she decides that she does not want to be dependent on people. I’m not sure about why the others are important though.

Answer #1

I think it was the red clowns part or when she is with the nun or when Esperanza realizes that Sally gets molested and no one cares. Those are just my thoughts. I hated the book when I had to read it for school so I got rid of it. I hope this helps.
