When did England start colonizing the world?

Answer #1

The mid sixteenth century in Ireland when England had attempted to annex it… but this was mostly just by regents of the king. This was followed by North America in Roanoke, which didn’t survive, then Jamestown, which did. Jamestown was being colonized around the same time that the Ulster plantations were being settled in Ireland, the start of the seventeenth century.
