Is there an easy way for someone to get out of depression without seeing a professional?

Answer #1

If you don’t mind my asking, is there a certain subject that ties in with your depression?

Answer #2

I suppose it would be possible depending on how deep you may be into the depression & what seemed to have caused it!
Perhaps a little more info would help us help you better.

well it started with my gf breaking up with me on the day we were supposed to celebrate our 1 year, and then two weeks later i went to college (she is going to the same one, in fact lives in my same building) and that was a really big change for me, and because i was already down i really didn’t go out and meet new people so i have like 2 friends here, and i also have “friends” from where i lived that lie and dont give a damn about me. ive never really been so down and alone. i dont feel like i need professional help because all i need is something good to happen to me.

Answer #5

I understand…That would be hard to deal with…Are you a Christian by any chance?

Answer #6

i belive in god but i dont go to church or participate in such activities. so kinda but not really

Answer #7

sometimes its not really about that…sometimes, its just being able to cope what what really happened between you & your ex-gf.

Yeah you can always get another date & another gf on the rebound, but until you dont come to terms with what happened & what led to the break up in the first place, that will keep taunting you let alone her living in the building! Constant memories especially if she is with another guy it might trigger something you want no part of…and then it will really get worse & you will need more then professional help but other kinds of help as well!

If you feel that it’s taking over your life to a point where you have just put a hold on life due to the situation, then I suggest professional help. Maybe just a few sessions would be enough…to talk it out, get to the root of the problem and find a way to come to terms with it so you can go on living rather then hold grudges and move on with your life!

I hope this helped.

i know exactly what happened and why it happened, and ive already tried to get 2 girls on the rebound but got rejected so that makes things even worse. ive been talking to friends that still care about me and idk i dont really see a professional actually being much different then that, ill probably end up getting similar advice. and im the kind of person who does things himself with no help so seeing a professional wouldnt be good for my self confidence either, but ill keep it in mind.

Yes, go to you local vitamin shop and get a product called Sam-e. It’s all natural. Ask the clerk about it, or so other product.
Also, depression could be caused by what you are eating and drinking.

Answer #10

Okay, try praying about it- just open up completely 1 on 1. I know this might not be what you’re used to, but it’s a start.

Answer #11

Yuh just got to move on and realize they’re more fish in the sea:] be happy:)

Answer #12

okay ya ive heard that, magnesium rich foods and supplements. ill look into that thanks

Answer #13

like I said, I understand that you want to deal with it on your own, but if you want to really deal with your depression, you have got to see someone that has the right tools to help you. obviously your way hasnt gone very far…if anything seems like it has only gotten worse, what is that telling you? Perhaps you are not equiped to help yourself on this issue, you cant handle it on your own anymore!? Now, only you can help yourself by admitting that you need professional help because its pretty obvious that it isnt working for you on your own, so instead of being stubborn & refusing to see someone for a session or 2 then decide if you need it or not, you are giving up..rather then giving it a try.

Cant help those that dont wish to be helped…:( the choice is yours…its in your hands dear.

Answer #14

It depends on what caused the depression etc. Sometimes people have depressed spells which they get over. Others NEED medication because their brain doesn’t produce happy chemicals.

A health diet and exercise should aid in you getting over your depression. Also stay away from alcohol and caffeine.

However if they depression lasts for a long while and you feel lik there is no way out, consider getting professional help sooner than later, because light depression can sometimes become major depression if you leave it untreated for long enough.
