how are earthquakes formed?
Earthquakes are formed when the tectonic plates on the inside of the Earth move. There are three differnt types of plate boundaries: convergent, divergent and transform. At a convergent boundary two different plates are colliding into each other, and this is often how volcanos are formed as well. At divergent boundaries two plates are pulling away from each other and at a transform boundary two plates are sliding against each other. If you need anymore information check out wikipedia and search Plate Tectonics and you'll get a lot more information about the subject. Hope this helps! ~Alanna
