Doing a research paper.. Help

When people are so obsessed with their weight they can actually see themselves differently than they appear in the mirror. I am talking about people who suffer with eating disorders.. But when a person steps on the scale, can they see a different number read just like they do a different image? This is a question a classmate asked and I didnt think it was possible… But I could be wrong.

Help!!!

This is coming from someone who has recovered from anorexia, so I know what I’m talking about. And I will tell you extra information as well for you.

It’s not just you who you see as fat, you see anyone who is size 8 and above as fat. There is something in your mind that messes everything up. Say if someone who is stunning went on telly and everyone else saw her amazing dress or her amazing hair etc first you would see her arms or legs, and think woah shes fat when she actully isn’t.

You believe that 7 stone and above is obese. So you can see the correct weight on the scales but you think it’s way to much!

Hope I helped x

no you dont see the wrong number… but you think you’re fat regardless… and if you’re confused, you have to remember that is different from what you see in the mirror… body image is a matter of perception… everyone sees different things when they look at an image… looking at a number is a little different… numbers arent usually seen differently unless a person has other issues… how those numbers are interpretted is another issue…
