I don't think so, only because I'm a huge animal lover.. dogs put a mark on your heart just as well as a person can... and if he means that much to you, go for it.. although, since you're only 17, it might be smart to wait a little bit before actually getting it... just so you can give yourself more time to decide..
Kind of.... But thats because all tattos are just..... wierd! They hurt, there expencive, and after a while they start to look really bad. And one very important reason is because most people after about a year or two don't even like the tatoo that they got because there intrest have changed.
Honestly? Yes. At 17, you're bound to have several dogs in your lifetime, are you going to tattoo them all on your body? Not to mention the odd looks people will give you. It's a dog - you may be very close to it, but still, it's a dog.
No it's not stupid I know a guy who is 20 years old has paw prints on the side of his ribcage that are in memory of his dog that died. He said he doesn't care what people think he was really close to him/her.
I understand that...I've had pets I loved too, but a tattoo is permanent and not something you should put on there just because you think it sounds like a good idea at the time.
If it's something that you want to do, then be you. Don't let a bunch of strangers on the internet tell you how to be you. ;)

there is no reason you shouldn't, you may have more dogs, but go with what you feel on this one..
Wait until your 22 and see if you still want tattoo's. at least, thats what gram gram said :P
