The more likely cause is that he heard something….
Dogs have way better hearing than humans, just because you didnt hear anything doesnt mean he didnt. You’ve never heard of the dog whistles - extremely loud to dogs, humans cant even hear them.
It wants attention
ehh.. if you’re a believer of paranormal activity, then maybe it could have been something like that??.. or maybe it just sensed something odd :)
