Can anyone tell me what my dog might have in it?

We have been speculating ever since we have her. They say that she is a labrador boerboel mix, however she is smaller than our alsation mix, which makes me think that she isn’t that. Then again, she LOVES water and even swims at night in the middle of the winter. Anyone?

Answer #1

Looks like a bit of bull terrier in her maybe :) plus some pit bull for the colour? I think.. hehe ^-^

Answer #2

staffordshire terrier.

Answer #3

Awhhh. (: She looks like a pit mixed with a heinz 57. If you dunno what the heinz 57 thingy is then look it up on google. :D

Answer #4

Nooooo their more muscley, bigger heads. D:

Answer #5

Lol. So basically you are saying she is a mutt.

Answer #6

it could be a cross. i kno9w exactly what a staffy looks like a had 4 of em.

Answer #7

My aunt also bred with staffy’s said that she looks like a staffy. Plus she makes the staffy cry when she is upset. It’s just we aren’t sure, I wanted some opinion. Thanx.

Answer #8

I meant staffy mix.

Answer #9

Poop and organs and stuff… one dog even had a rubber squeaky mouse in it… that was crazy!

Answer #10

Lol. I did phrase that badly didn’t I. Good one.

Answer #11

My bad… I never read more than the highlights… hmmm… with that brindled coat maybe she is part tasmanian tiger… that’s a type of dog isn’t it?

Answer #12

Is she from the pound ?

Answer #13

Got her from a friend of my sister. Haven’t seen the mother or father of the puppies.

Answer #14

It probably is. Now that you mention it…mmmm…. I think she is one, do they bite?

Answer #15

No… but their sting can be very painful…

To be serious… I usually associate a brindled coat with dogs in the bulldog family… particularly the American Staffordshire Terrier which has already been mentioned… but mine is a limited guess at best. I have an Akita/Great Pyrenees mix but he looks sort of like an Irish Wolfhound… so particular breeds can be hard to discern.

Answer #16

Thanks, I’ve been getting staffy a lot, plus she yodles (sp?) like a staffy. Then again she has white paws, so maybe boxer?

Answer #17

Yeah… a boxer fits too.

If she is yodeling… then she may be a Basenji mix… and from her facial features and stature…. I wouldn’t rule this out prematurely.

Answer #18

I’ve never even heard of a Basenji, it could be though. Thnx. Will consider it, but then again she LOVES water. She swims at night in the middle of the winter, that is why I’m wondering if that could also be an indication of what breed she might be.

Answer #19

You may call it something else. A girlfriend of mine who had lived a short while in Africa had one and she told me about them. Basenjis are considered hunting dogs… but I don’t know if they retrieve from water. Like I said earlier… it can be impossible to determine which breeds she is bred from entirely. Mixed breeds make great pets in my experience.

Answer #20

I googled it and you do get it here, as far as I know we don’t call it something else. You are right, she is an excellent pet. She is just super shy of humans and only comes to us for attention. I was reading up on it now and it said that Basenjis don’t like water or wet weather….so I don’t know I am at a loss. With our other mixed breed we can at least guess one of the dogs she has int.

Answer #21

I would still be hesitant in ruling out some Basenji admixture… being of mixed lineage a water phobia may have been bred out. She looks like a good friend… good luck in tracking down your info… thanks for tolerating my stupid humor… lol.

Answer #22

lol. What stupid humor. I enjoy it and thanks for the answers.
