Does second hand smoke harm animals?

okk, 1st of all I am not a smoker, but am just curious to this…I know it has been proven that second hand smoke harms/kills humans. I am just curious to know if second hand smoke causes cancer/illnesses in animals? Has any data or facts ever been done on this?

Answer #1

Yes it does. Ugg! I was so pssed off yesterday while driving down the road because I saw a woman in a car with her dog… ALL THE WINDOWS ROOLED UP and she was SMOKING IN THE DOGS FACE!! I wanted to beat her as.

Answer #2

There have been studies done, and they have found that second hand smoke does affect housepets, just as humans, with only a few differences. For example, cats displayed higher incidence of mouth cancer, while dogs had higher incidences of lung and nasal cancer.

Answer #3

Yes - it has the same effect on them as it has on us. Evidence? Here’s some articles about it: http://www.smokefreesociety.org/newsclip/Pets-1.html
