Does anyone have ferrets?

Okay so I have two ferrets one is 10 months old and the other is 3 years old. Every day we take them outside to clean there cage and let them play. They love the sprinkler! Is the cold water bad for them? also the baby loves to dig in my sons sand box is it bad for her to do that? Also the baby loves to play with my husband and gets all silly with him and the older one loves to just walk around and explore. But when my hubbys playing with the baby the older one lays down and watches looking sad. But he only likes to be held and cuddled. when he cuddles the older one the baby gets crazy and jumps all over his feet and bites his shoes bc he wants attention. I usually paly and cuddle both but they seem to fight over my husbands attention. How do I get them to stop doing that? Also they have become depotty trained. How do I get them to go in the litter box again? Please only respond if you have had a ferret or have a ferret. Thanks!

Ferret by nature are diggers, they love to dig. It would be better to get a box with clean sand for them to play indoors, the sand outdoors could have bacteria that ferrets are susceptible too. If they like playing in the water outdoors, it’s okay, just make sure they are on a lead or harness. Ferrets crave human interaction and attention, they all have different personalities. Isn’t there something that you husband could get both of them involved in all playing - some fun games are getting a towel and waiving it, then lay it down for them to jump on and let them ride on it while you drag the towel, another it plastic grocery sacks (cut handles off) - throw in the air and they’ll jump after them, and they like to get inside them and wrestle around. Potty training - ferrets have a very short digestive system, they digest food every three = four hours, make sure they potty before leaving their cage. when their out have additional potty box in a corner, when ferrets need to go, it’s immediately to the nearest corner, when you see them backing up, try to place them in the potty box, or another alternative is to put down newspapers in the corners while you have them out.
