Do wooly catapillars bite

Do wooly bear catapillars bite?

Answer #1

Not that I’ve ever found - I think they’re kind of neat!

Answer #2

Caterpillars don’t bite, they sting, which is just as bad. Some have a poison sting but I’ve never read anything bad about a Wooley Bear. I just found one on the outside wall of our office building and I was wondering if they sting, so I got online and asked. I just wish I knew why he’s still crawling around when it was freezing this morning. Aren’t they supposed to be hibernating for the winter?
