Why is my keet biting?

I have a parakeet, she has done well on hand training, But when I get her out of the cage she bites. Its like when she wants out she will get out herself but if I want her to play and she don’t, she will bite me

Hi,

I found this online for you.

A bird only bites if it is afraid. It sounds like you are not following the training instructions. Your hand should never be near the keets if they are not trusting you!

I think you answered your own question… If I want her to play and she don’t… Animals will do things when they want, not when you want. If she doesn’t want to play then she’ll bite you to stop you from taking her out. Also might be a trust issue… Also if they sense you’re hesitant or scared they will bite…
