Do I help my friend or am I overreacting?

I am really worried bout my mate. She is quite thin already but hardly eats anythin. She nevers eats breakfast, hardly eats anythin for lunch and apparently my other friend said she doesnt eat much for dinner?? Also she makes comments like “I didnt eat much today, did I” as if trying to reassure herself that she didnt! Should I talk to her or do ya fink I am just over reacting and she probly is ok??? she dances a lot so if there is sumin wrong it could be because she wants to stay in shape 4 that! So it mite be like a little diet to stay in shape. any advice?

Thanx

well if shes not following a HEALTHY diet then yes you have all the right to be concerned which thats what it sounds like..sounds like shes exaggerating on the whole I dont want to eat much part..tell her that there are better ways to stay in shape such as going to the gym..or dancing itself!! and diets are good..such as salads, protein shakes, fruits and yogurt..so no your not exxagerating..c I would be worried as much..so watchout for her and tell her all this…let her know that she looks perfectly fine..and if they demand a certain weight for them in dance or for sumthing like that help her step by step so she wont feel alone and so she wont feel all the weight on her that will make her think not eating is the easiest way for her..

I hope this helped some

any questions just funmail meeh.. I kinda went thru the same situation and now thank god im a better and a healthier person!!

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Have her check out the information below. If she is severely underweight she may have an eating disorder, so have her check out that link if that is the case.

How to GAIN or LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn’t gain or lose your weight overnight so don’t expect to gain or lose if overnight. Plus, if trying to lose weight, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.
