Is there a differance between tone ing up and loseing weight?
Like if I run 2 miles every day could I see a change in the mirror or would I have to see a change on the scale to look better.
Thank you!
toning is basically making your body look firmer and trim... for example, if you were to have flabby arms, by doing weight training, you can get rid of the flab and replace it with musscle, while losing weight is well... losing weight :P by running everyday and eating right, you'll most likely lose weight. but don't rely on the scale to see the number go down... cause you'll probablly have gained musscle! - there's a special scale that measures your body weight, water weight and musscle!
I used to run five miles everyday and in two months I lost 15 lbs. I continued to run for another two months and saw no weight loss. I asked a fitness instructor and he said that running helps you lose water weight and if you wanted to see a better result like great abs or tighter arms you would have to tone your muscles as well. So I suggest that you do run but also do some sort of toning, like tae bo, pilates, lifting weights, or aerobics. Good Luck!
loosing weight is just that, loosing weight toning up is toning, firming and defining your muscles, or making them look toned. toning doesnt mean loosing weight, you exerscise, weight train ect but not to loose weight, to define your muscles most people try to do both though...by both toning and also loosing weight
