diet and fitness please help!!!

What kind of exercise should I do at the gym for weight loss to lose an ok amount of weight in like 4 months?

Hello every1 I just turn 21 and I would like to lose lots of weight. I weigh like 200 something lbs, and I would like to lose like 140 lbs, it should take me like a year or less to lose it I hope. my body is curvy so it doesn’t look like I weight 200 something lbs. I don’t have an eating problem because I’m not in to sweet or salty and the whole junk food thing, and I hate fast food. My family back ground are big bone people so with the right diet and exercise I think I can get fit easily, and I’m not up for the diet pills and the unhealthy diet stuff, and I would like to also know what kind of food should I eat to keep me balance because I’m in to home cook meals nothing to sweet and nothing to salty, just foods that are just right. So if there is anyone with any good ideas of what healthy things I can use along with a diet and exercise please feel free to share your ideas, because I really want to lose weight. thanks in advance.

The more colour (or the darker) veggies/fruits are the more vitamins and minerals they have for you.

Iceberg lettuce is awful - has no nutritional value and ruins the whole point of having a salad.

Anything with white flour is BAD for you (white breads, white noodle pastas, chips, etc.) Whole grain flour (wheat, seven grain, etc) is very good for you and helps you feel full longer. You can get wheat noodles (or spinach and tomato, yum![those are the noodles I get from Trader Joe’s]) which not only makes your pasta meals much more yummy but helps make them healthy.

I’ve found that countries that don’t eat pork have a WHOLE lot less diseases so I try to stay away from pork. Beef seems to be alright, but stick to the lean beef.

Consuming 1200 calories a day will make you lose weight while still allowing you enough calories to function and stay healthy. When you’re eating pastas (or sandwiches or anything you can think of to do this with) add as many vegetables as you can. Having 1 1/2 cups of (healthy noodle) pasta with a bunch of yummy toppings (mushrooms, chicken, tomatoes, onion, zucchini, peppers, whatever you like) is far more healthy, filling, and fulfilling than 3 cups of plain pasta and sauce.

and WATER! Drink a full glass of water BEFORE you eat. Drink a full glass of water when you feel hungry. Often dehydration feels like hunger and gets us to eat more when what we really need is water. There are many many more but that’s all I have for now. Maybe I’ll come back to this question later with more ideas.

It will take a lot longer than 1 year to lose that much. 140lbs is 10 stones! It’s taken me a year just to lose 2! It will take you at least 4 - 5 years to lose that much. If you want to lose that much you should join a diet. I suggest Slimming World. It’s probably the best healthy eating diet going. If your under 16 you need to go with an adult and it’s free. 16 and overs have to pay £4.50 a week. It’s so worth it though! As for exercises, walking for about 1 - 2 hours a day is fine. You don’t have to do crunches, sit ups or anything like that. Doing house work for a good hour can be good aswell or dancing :)

check out harvards food pyramid with what you should be eating. a rule of thumb is to consume 10 calories for every pound you want to weigh. for example if you want to weight 130 lbs then eat 1300 calories a day. stay away from fat, since that is what you’re trying to burn. read up on it and you’ll do fine, just keep track of how many calories you’re consuming and preferrably how much you’re burning as well.

I think she meant weigh 140 pounds and lose 60, which is definitely doable in a year.
