When to decide to get yourself off birthcontrol?

ok i started birthcontrol to regulate my period when i was 15. no big deal. but now i’m almost 21 and i want to start thinking about making a family of my own in the next few years. but to be honest i am scared to death i may choose the wrong time to get off it. too soon and not be completely prepared for baring a child or 2 late and when i actually try i get disapointed cuz it takes so much to get pregnant.

Note: I am not saying i want childern in the near future, just concerned for the future when i am ready.

Answer #1

When your ready to have a baby?

Answer #2

yea but it take a certain time for your ovulation to get back on track. so i think pre-deciding is better idea for around that time. no one likes disappointment especially when it comes to have children.

Answer #3

I also take pills and on mine it says to get off and wait two months and then try for a baby otherwise you might have a miscarriage.

Answer #4

thank you =) a womens opinion on this subject is just what i neede.

Answer #5

I’m only 15 so I don’t expect I will know much about this subject, but I know the feeling of being scared to come off it because I didn’t like how the pill was making me feel all the time :L

Answer #6

Oh sorry i didn’t check your age! Ask your mother maybe she’ll know! I thought you were more like 19

Answer #7

Man u were on the pill that long? My teachers sister was on the pill that long if not more I can’t member. But she said her sister can’t get pregnet because she was on it so long. But idk I’m sure everyone’s body’s different. And when you want a baby you should get off the pill.

Answer #8

whatever u do dont get off just to get back on. that many changes in ur body r not good for u.

Answer #9

i would but then she’ll go into the speil where she assumes i want one now and freak out or else i would. and yes i have explained to her what i mean and she always says the same thing “ you 2 aren’t ready” coming from a women who had 3 kids b4 22.

Answer #10

i know that why do you think i’m asking when i should b4 trying to have childern?

Answer #11

thats what i’m afraid of! but my mom’s had me get on it, and it does regulate everything. but i’m really scared if that happens to me. would you suggest b4 trying to have childern to also get my fertility checked to see if there is any damage or anything wrong?

Answer #12

Ya I think that would be a good idea or talk to your doctor about it.

Answer #13

I would def ease your way off of it. Another thing, dont let negative feedback change your mind. (people that are telling you, you arent ready)It may be hard coming off because your so use to being on it, but just look at the brightside, and the brightside is starting your own family, and having beautiful kid(s). Im currently pregnant now, and It was a shock at first, but im def happy now, and I wouldn’t go back, even if I had the chance (:

Answer #14

thanks i was thinking of waiting a few years i know my boyfriend wants to have childern in a few years but i’d really like to be married b4 having kids even though i know he is going to be a great dad =)

Answer #15

Ohh… K well good luck! Make the right choice :)

Answer #16

well i plan on marrying first and then having children. i want to have children but the thought of child baring and caring a human being scares the crap out of me. so i will deff be waiting a few years when that thought doesnt scare me so much.

Answer #17

You sound very responsible! I’m sure you’ll be a great mother!

Answer #18

thank you, it has to do alot with the fact i don’t want to be like my cousins, one of them is my age has 2 kids and is pregant again and it might be twins and my other cousin is 17 and has one and is pregant again also. and i always promised myself i didn’t want to bring a child into this world until was completely mature enough and responsible to take care of another person.
