I have had many past addictions and it all comes down to the same thing… you have to look at it as a learning time… what you went through and got out of will later on help someone else to get through it… you have to stay strong and hold your ground… as a christian I also believe that after recovering from something satan will try to bring you down and try to make you think that you arent really forgiven… he will keep trying to tell you that you are no better than before and he will try to bring you down… this when you need the most support because this is when people fall back into temptation… I’m pretty sure that your an amazing person and I am also sure that the addictions you struggle with are not worth it… in the end you just have to seek God’s forgiveness and ask him to help you forgive yourself… God loves you unconditionally and he will forgive you before you can even ask for forgiveness… I hope I helped…

I think that a lot of people have trouble forgiving themselves after lengthy experiences involving drugs and alcohol. Especially if you hurt a lot of people along the way. I think you need to sit down and realize everything you’ve been through and how far you’ve come. You’ve obviously overcome a lot of hard times and I commend you for that! I also believe that if you let the people you hurt know how far you’ve come then they will be proud of you too. It must be tough, but you seem like a strong willed individual. Congratulations for everything you’ve overcome! I think that as long as everyone else is proud of you and can put your past behind them than eventually you will be able to put it behind you as well. Just remember that the past is the past and you can’t change that. Everything is alright in the end, if it’s not alright, then it’s not the end. Good luck!

I personally think you will always have thoughts about it, but what you need to do is compare your past to the future. Think about the good things you will do for people in the future instead of the bad things you did in the past. Earn the trust back of the people you hurt and show them the real you. But, you need to forgive yourself before others forgive you. Always believe in yourself, when you wake up everyday tell yourself “Today is a new day, and it feels good to be me!” I believe you can do this, I have hope in you.

I dont know if this will help you, but I dont believe in regret… You cannot change what you did, and so what exactly is the point in feeling bad about it? You can try to do better in the future, but at the end of the day, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST… Try not to get hung up on it, it is absolutely pointless… If you want to make things better then make things better, try and fix the things you did, and try making other people’s lives better… but at the end of the day, you cannot change the past…

IT IS NATURAL NOT TO FORGIVE YOURSELF, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT DOING THE THINGS THAT YOU USED TO DO NOW , YOU SHOULD LOOK AT THAT AS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT AND REALIZE YOU ARE TAKING A BIG LEAP IN TO BECOMING A HEALTHIER AND MORE CARING PERSON, AND BEING THERE FOR YOUR FAMILY DOING WHAT YOU CAN AND HAVE TOO, IF NOT THEN LOOK TO AS MANY HEALTHY PROFFESSIONALS AND FAMILY MEMBERS FRIENDS THAT CARE AND WANT YOU TO DO BETTER AND HAVE THEM HELP YOU FIND PLACE TO GO AND JUST SUPPORT YOU, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ONE BUT MY MOM HAS, HONESTLY WHAT IS MEANT TO BE WILL FIND A WAY, NO ONE IS MEANT TO HAVE A BAD LIFE OR SELF ESTEEM, IT IS MORE LIKE A ROAD BUMP BUT ONCE YOU GET OVER IT WITH a lot OF WILL POWER AND SUPPORT STRENGHT WITHIN YOURSELF AND OTHERS YOU WILL MAKE IT.
