Dealing with a quitter?

So.. My mum resontly quit smoking, at first I was so proud of her, but now I just wish that she would just shove one of those, nasty tar filled things back into her mouth lol. She has been so grumy about absolutly every thing, I dont know that to do, I want to be suportive, but I dont really know how, nor do I know when she is actually mad, or just pissed because of her lack of niccotine??

Please help me, shes driving me cazzzy! :p

Answer #1

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,

    And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
    And also, too, to help you to know,
    That in knowing you, many others grow!

  Have a conversation with her and explain that you are supportive of her desire to be a non-smoker, but that you need help when she is in one of her nicotine moods. Suggest that she simply warn you when she is in her nicotine mood so that you will know to stay out of her way.

Answer #2

When anyone is quitting an addiction, they get very agitated, grumpy, and touchy. Understand that she is not mad at you. It’s her nicotine-deprived brain that is on a rampage trying to get her drug of choice. When she is in a good mood, give her a hug and tell her that you love her and you are so proud of her for what she is trying to do. She needs your support. Please be patient and understanding. That part will get better soon, but her addiction will still be there for many years. I know because I’ve been there. Good Luck!! to both of you.
