I am scared of ghost thing, even a picture.
They say with phobias you first start little and work yourself into more and more into whatever scare you. So somebody that is afraid of dogs will first, look at pictures of dogs, then look at videos of dogs, eventually look at dogs from the safety of your home like somebody brings a dog into your yard but kind of far away. This takes weeks, while at the same time practice relaxation techniques. Eventually get the dog closer to your house. Then the person leaves. The next time is you outside and the person with the dog like 100 feet away, then 50 feet and so on. But with Ghost??? How do you get Ghost to help you with that? :D
Well I would say call the ghost busters, but that is wrong. I usta have a bad fear of highs and all I did was I started pushing myself into high situations. I started with large platform jumps at pools, and repelling, now I want to give skydiving a try, and I would love to get my own plane. I think you just have to face your fears and push yourself and your limits.
There's no real best way. As far as I know exposure is the only way to cure a phobia. Although how you get exposure to a ghost is beyond me. Any how, what Ben said is called gradual desensitization. Which is what most therapists use. Get professional help if you think it could help.
The only way to clear a phobia as far as I know is to face it. That's why I try to avoid cockroaches. Lol. Just imagine people are not afraid of sharks and basically its because they are used to them. So therefore face it and u will cure ur phobia. Have fun. Lol.
Try to think about it rationally. Is there really any reason to fear it? Can it really hurt you? And when you're ready put yourself in the situation that scares you and focus on your response.
ghost, horror film, vampire, you name it. Would you believe that I used to avoid talking about the film entitled NEW MOON and ECLIPSE?
it took a very good example, I used to afraid of dog but not now. but it was only a kind if usual scare not until phobia...:(
Well, in Ghostbuster when they faced the Ghost head on, they got covered in slime!!
My wife will not watch scary movies, she just doe not like them.
FACE IT HEAD ON
