The 2012 doomsday is a strange thing because several things point to it. The most widely accepted one is the end of the Mayan calendar which falls in that year. Every time the Mayan calander has ended, the earth has been renewed, meaning something has caused a mass extinction. There is also a planetary allignment in that year. Sagatarius also points to where scientists believe to be the focal point to the universe. Its just strange things like that which are making people think the end of the universe is coming. Oh and one more thing. 2012 marks solar maxim: THe point in which the sun’s poles cause massive solar flares that sends waves of radiation bouncing off our atmosphere. This creates aurora borelias as well as major satelite/communication problems as the radiation wipes out electrical signals.
