Crush Issue, Should I move on?

Alright there is this guy who is a senior at my school who seems to be really anti-social. I thought he was pretty cute and I finally got an opportunity to go talk to him. I saw him sitting by himself doing nothing so I came up and asked if I could sit next to him. He just said “sure” and I tried to start up a conversation. I first introduced myself and he said that he recognized me from the algebra class. I then asked like what his hobbies/interests and he just said “you don’t want to know.” So I just guessed like if he did drugs? He said “no” I asked sex? He said “yeah a lot.” :| It was really awkward but I continued to get to know him a bit more. I asked him that sex can’t be the only thing that he does after school. So he told me he liked reading mostly outdoor books and I’m like “oh so you like camping?” He just says “no” Like fishing? he says “yes.” I finally said “goodbye and I hope to see you around.” He just says “yea ok.”

Basically from all this I couldn’t get him to really indulge into a conversation and I felt bad afterward because I felt like I was only irritating him and pushed a little to far. Its very hard to understand if he wants to be left alone or is shy because I never see him around anybody. Neither does any of my friend and they say that while he is in they’re class, he talks to no one. So what do you guys think I should do? Move on?
