How can I convince my dad to let my dog live inside?

Answer #1

You have to be ready to take full responsibility for the dog then. To clean it’s business, feed it, wash it, keep it in a good place. Dogs should be let out anyways. They get clean air and they can roam around freely in the back without anyone telling them to move or stop something. If the dog has a lot of fur, that can be a problem too. Fur catches on couches too. More detail as to why he won’t let you keep him would help. Although, a safe place to keep your dog is in the garage. Make a deal with your dad that if you want the dog inside then you will commit to it or do whatever you want him to do. If the dog is old enough to live outside, it’s better for him. You can bring him in when you want then take him back out. It saves mess.

i told him all of this and he still said no. my mom has no problem with my dog living inside, but my dad does. both my mom and me snuck my dog inside at nite cuz it was freezing cold and she didn’t make noise, she didn’t make a mess, and she has a lot of fur but i brush her daily so there is barely any shedding. Grr…i want her inside

Well you couls always convince him to help you out and build a house outside big enough so he is warm at night and cozy and all that outside. If your dad does not want a dog inside, I’m sure he has his reasons, like dogs do shed a lot of hair, so it’s understandable that he does not want that. Meaby he does not want a dog following him around of just in the way and just stuff like that. You could also suggest to him of letting the dog inside when it’s cold, when it’s like too cold, so there is no worry of you guys because of how cold he might be and stuff like that. You can try telling him that you will take care of him, while he is inside so he does not have to worry or something?
