Constipated Kitten

My cat had kittens and they are four weeks old now - and one of them is constipated, I dont think she has had a “movement” for at least 4 or 5 days - I’ve been trying olive oil for the past couple of days without any progress … suggestions?

Answer #1

Are you stimulating their genitals still?

At that age, since they’re drinking liquids, it’s normal for them to not poop regularly. The last few I’ve fostered didn’t poop for days at a time. One thing we use at the shelter I work at is mineral oil. Might want to try it, but I wouldn’t worry much.

Answer #2

the first litter of kittens I had one of them was very constipated and I asked the vet and they said try mixing in a can of pumpkin pie filling in it’s food and it should help…I never did try it but it may help…

Answer #3

right turn kitten over and gently useing a face cloth wipe over the tummy with warm water just to sofften up the muscles and bowels honest it works.
