Chronic UTI'S

I have been for the last 4-5 months been getting chronic UTI’s and it seems to be right before my period. My dr is a little stumped because he thinks the antibiotics may not be taking care of them, even though the bacteria are sensitive to them. I was wondering if it could be the result of having the nuvaring for my birthcontrol. It seems like it might be related to having to go in and removing it. Has anyone heard of this being a problem before, or does any one else have any ideas as to haw I can prevent them without having to take antibiotics?

Answer #1

glycerin, which is found in most personal lubricants can cause uti’s and yeast infections, check the ingredients on your lube if you use it. some women find relief with a silicone based lube.

Answer #2

It can be related to the vagina acidity. Check out drinking lots of cranberry juice. it helps keep the acidic level high.
Drink lots of fluids, cranberry, pomegranate, …

What a pain, good luck.
