Would you let your child go to UK/Ireland at 16, if they saved the money up themselves, knew people who would take them in over there, had everything taken care of?
Um not likely unless I trusted the kid and had complete ways of contacting them. Honestly I lived in Europe so ik how dangerouse it can be at times for American teens in the wrong areas.I'd have to know where they'd be staying, who'd be supervising, they'd have to call me everyday at 2 specific times so ik nothing had happened. But most of all they'd have to be trust worthy and dependable.
If the child had shown that they were responsible enough, the parent had talked to the people who would take the child in and it didn't effect their education I would see no major problem =]. Generally speaking, the UK and Ireland aren't particularly dangerous countries.
Yes, i would let my child go as long as everything was planned ahead of time and there was an easy way to contact each other. That is an opportunity that should be taken.
I would have to know that the teen would be protected and watched after by adults I trusted. And it would depend on the teens maturity level.
Of course. It could be their one and only chance to go! I would never hold my child back from something like that.
If the kid was responsible and trustworthy I don't see why not.
I wouldn't. I would be afraid to let my child fly :)
