I would love to eat healthier and I love healthy foods, but it's so expensive to buy the foods that are better for you... any cheap health food advise?
I agree. Making vegetable-based meals, when the veg has been grown locally, is cheap and yummy! I make quick and easy stews (based on tinned tomatoes, I have to admit) and then just throw in whatever fresh veg I find cheap in the shops or have growing in the garden - peppers, zuchini (I call them courgettes - how do you spell zuccini?) caulifower, onions, mushrooms, whatever is seasonal. Don't fry any of it or add any oil, just boil them together and add seasoning herbs or spices of your choice. Eat with a bit of brown rice or brown bread.
You can make double the amount or more, and freeze the rest for later. Sometimes I make it without any herbs/spices and then add whatever I fancy when I defrost and cook it.
Cook your own food.
You can buy dry beans, rice, and seasonal fruits and vegetables inexpensively and cook your own nutritious meals.
Convenience food is expensive and often highly processed and high in sodium, fat, and refined flour and sugar.
u dont have to buy healthy foods, just not junk food. when you r @ the store, buy watever except for things like donuts, cookies, etc. or just cut back the portions of food.
