Is it possible to have carpal tunnel or arthritis at the age of 17?

Sometimes when I’m working out or just holding something that’s somewhat heavy for awhile my hand gets stuck…like my fingers are cramped and I need to push them back jut so I can move them. Also the other night me and a couple of buddies were playing onlne and that session went from like 10 till 12:30 and when I said I was done my knuckles were really sore and stiff. So anyway I play games just about every day but only fr about an hour( that night was cause we started playing zombies in black ops and it’s ridiculous after awhile) and I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it but I “take care of myself” only once or twice a week… So any ideas…

Carpal tunnel is caused be repetition, so it can occur at any age,

a few questions though what exactly happens is it you knuckles( the part of you fingers the connect to you hand) or the rest of your fingers that lock up? is it the muscle or does it feel like the bones are locked up?

i would have to recommend seeing a doctor, only a professional can acutely diagnose the problem, it does not have to be arthritis, common arthritis symptoms are inflammation, pain, and stiffness

Yes to both- usually carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is treated surgically, arthritis (JA) with medicines. CTS often involves tendons, JA mostly affects joints.

yea its possible because when i was 13 i had to have surgery on my right hand because i had carpal tunnel syndrom. also my bestfriend has had arthritis since she was nine.
